Pare che Ubuntu non reisca a riconoscere la tavola delle partizioni presente sui dischi.
Vede che hai 4 dispositivi (sda, sdb, sdc, sdd)ma non le aprtizioni al loro interno.
Nei dispositivi sopra citati sono presenti anche dischi esterni, chiavette usb e quant'altro.

Ti chiedo sempre cortesemente se possibile di provare a lanciare da terminale

Codice:

dmesg >> bootlog

Questo crea un file chiamato bootlog nella tua cartella, se riesci a allegarlo al tuo prossimo messaggio è un grande aiuto.
Tale file infatti contiene le informazioni sulle operazioni che fa il kernel per identificare e settare l'hardware, se c'è un problema li detro se ne troverà traccia

È giusto che non ti dia nessun output, perchè l'output è "dirottato" nel file bootlog dalle due freccine (>>).
In generale le due freccine stanno a significare "prendi quello che il programma lanciato prima (in questo caso dmesg) manda allo schermo e mettilo nel file".
Nella cartella home dopo avere dato il comando troverai un file "bootlog" prendilo e allegalo al prossimo messaggio, oppure aprilo con gedit e copiaincollalo

Ah, inutile dirlo, ma essendo ancora sul cd non appena spegni il pc il file bootlog viene eliminato, quindi se non lo trovi dovrai ridare il comando di prima :D

Allora per farla breve Ubuntu non carica in automatico il driver (che in linux passa sotto il nome di "Modulo") del tuo chipset, cioè in parole povere non riesce ad accedere al disco fisso.

Per farla lunga, se dai un occhio nel dmesg, vedi che hai le seguenti righe:

Dove puoi vedere che prende come disco SDA (primo disco) il lettore CF, poi come secondo disco SDB il lettore SD e terzo SDC prende il lettore MS e quarto il lettore SM.

Suppongo tu abbia attaccato un card reader o una stampante con tale funzione quindi :D

Il linux oramai da qualche anno TUTTI i dispositivi per immagazzinare i dati sono visti come SDx, dove x è la lettera che il kernel gli assegna.
Solitamente il kernel (non è proprio il kernel, ma per semplicità restiamo così) parte a dare le lettere dai dischi fissi "standard" e poi passa alle varie USB e compact flash.
Nel tuo caso il disco che hai dentro al pc dovrebbe essere chiamato SDA, ma a causa quasi sicuramente di un problema nel ricnonoscere il modello del chipset il kernel non "vede" il disco fisso, quindi da SDA al lettore comact flash.

Per risolvere il problema dobbiamo capire che modello di chipset ha la tua scheda madre, credo sia abbastanza "esotico" o molto recente, nel qual caso potrebbe darsi che il kernel di Ubuntu sia troppo vecchio per riconoscerlo.
Niente di particolare, dobbiamo solo scoprire il modello del chipset o della scheda madre. Tu riesci a trovarlo? Sulla scatola o da Windows dovresti vederlo facilmente...

La scheda madre è una ASUS K8V-VM

Non è necessario, anche perchè sul chipset è installata un dissipatore che ti impedisce di leggerne il modello :D

Comunque il chipset è un VIA, e conosco un ragazzo con la tua stessa scheda madre che ha installato Ubuntu senza problemi, quindi mi sorge un dubbio, scontato magari, ma è meglio non tralasciare nulla:
Tu avvii dal cd in modalità "installazione", "live" o safe mode?

Nel terzo caso può essere che non venga caricato il driver intenzionalmente per evitare eventuali problemi.
Se così fosse, boota dentro l'ambiente live e sul desktop trovi l'icona per rieseguire l'installazione su disco fisso

Altrimenti prova a entrare sempre nell'ambiente "live" e dare in una console

Questi comandi "forzeranno" il kernel a caricare il modulo giusto per vedere il tuo hardware

Io non so dache cosa entro, ma sul mio desktop c'è l'icona per l'installazione.

Che dopo averlo caricato (ergo non ti da l'errore FATAL) il kernel dovrebbe riuscire a vedere il disco e tu a installare Ubuntu.

Non usando Ubuntu e non trovando la configurazione del kernel che Ubuntu usa sul loro sito (sarò cecato ma proprio non l'ho trovata

) non posso garantirti che funzioni per quello ho usato il condizionale

Ho provato ad installare Ubuntu versione alternate, e arrivati alla fase del paertizionamento mi dice:
Non è stato trovato alcun disco, se si conosce il nome del driver richiesto per accedere ai dischi lo si selezioni dall'elenco...
Ho cercato, da windows, a caricare i driver dal disco sella scheda madre Via, AGP etc ma non li installa...
Devo per caso formattare o c'è qualcosa a livello di hardware che non và?
